If an order has failed because of an invalid PLU, there are ways to identify the cause and prevent it from occurring in the future.
What is a PLU?
PLU stands for price look-up. This is a unique code used by the different channels (Deliverect Manager Application, Deliverect Manager Portal, and Delivery channels) to communicate a product or modifier and its corresponding price.
Where to find orders that have failed because of a PLU error
Step 1. Open the Deliverect Manager Portal.
Step 2. Go to Orders and check for any Failed orders.
Step 3. When clicking on a failed order, an overview will be revealed below. Inside the red box, an error code will be shown.
Example
InvalidModifier: Invalid PLU: MSOORTM001 InvalidModifier: Invalid PLU: MSOORTM002
- InvalidModifiers means the PLU of a modifier is not the same as in your Inventory.
The PLU can be seen next to the product below the error code.
Possible explanations
- Changes have been done in Deliverect, but the menu has not since been published or did not publish successfully.
- A menu was published at the same time an order was placed, causing a temporary desynchronization.
How to prevent future orders from failing with invalid PLUs
Step 1. Log in to your Deliverect Manager Portal.
Step 2. Via the left sidebar, go to Inventory.
Step 3. Enter the name of the product/modifier or the PLU code that is displayed in the error to verify that Products/Modifiers and PLU are the same as the ones in the order.
Step 4. Have a look at the specified product/modifier inside your Deliverect Manager Portal menu (and platforms with no menu synchronization if used). Double-check that it has the same PLU on all the different menus and platforms.
Step 5. Publish your menu live to your delivery channel(s).
